Today Brooklynn earned her wings!
For the last two weeks I have been dreading this day! We took Brooklynn on a plane for the first time. Our wonderful adventure started out very much on the wrong foot. As soon as we got to the airport and unloaded all of our luggage the sky cap immediately asked me for my license, which I totally anticipated, however then he asked me for Brooklynn's birth certificate and I was like, immmm what? Turns our you need a birth certificate for lap riders, mind you it is now 6:15 and our flight takes off at 7:10 AM. If you live in California you already know what the 60W to the 57N is like that early in the morning. My husband was like well lets get back in the truck and head home, no no no I said, we will never make it back in time. I hopped on the phone, called my Dad and he was nice enough to drive over to our house ( Luckily they have a key) and grab Brooklynn's birth certificate, head back to his house and fax it to us. Needless to say we made the flight with only a few minutes to spare! What a crazy way to start off this trip. Have any of you flown with a young kid and knew about this?
We lucked out with both of our flights having spare seats and we got a whole row to ourselves. Come our second flight we were very happy about that since Brooklynn was beyond exhausted. It took her some time but she finally got comfortable and took about an hour nap.
Even when she was awake she was a little angel, I was super impressed. Im not going to lie she had a few outbursts but these two flights couldn't have gone any better for us. She was such a happy camper.
We finally arrived, got our rental car and headed out, we still had a short drive ahead of us to get to our families house. Once we got there the two little cousins hit it off great. They had such a blast playing with each other. We also celebrated our Uncle's birthday we a fun pizza dinner and a Seahawks cake to top it off. (We are Chargers fans but we ate it anyway) :)
