While up in June Mountain we visited Bodie State Historical Park.
Bodie State historical Park is a ghost town and it is amazing! There is only a small portion of the town left and what is left is preserved in a state of "arrested decay", which means that everything was left as is from when the last residents left over 50 years ago. You can look in quite a few windows of buildings and see all the goods just laying around as is. We particularly liked looking in the school house because all the books are still open and faded from the sun and the globe was decayed as well. Quite a site to see!
We are hoping to head back to Bodie this summer because from May to September you can tour the Stamp Mill. Normally Bodie isn't open this time of the year due to snow but because we have had a pretty dry winter the roads to the town were still open. If you want more information on Bodie or wish to plan a visit yourself you can check out the website
here. I definitely recommend a trip!
