I never anticipated that picking out a Christmas tree could be so hard. Then again, we've never waited this long to get our tree before. Time just slipped away from us with how much Loren has been working. So we started our journey at Home Depot in Brea, which is where we normally get our tree. However, this time all of the trees seemed to be dead already so we decided nope, not going to happen. We then moved on to a Christmas tree lot in Placentia off of Yorba Linda Blvd, we loved these trees but boy were they spendy. I just couldn't bring myself to let us pay that much for a tree.
So we moved on, we decided to check the Home Depot down in Savi Ranch but those trees were just as dead as the trees in Brea. Next was a Christmas tree lot on Imperial and La Palma but neither of us liked those trees and Brooklynn was afraid of the man helping us. haha From there we drove up Imperial to the tree lot on Imperial and Lakeview. We really liked some of those trees but after looking at the price I told Loren if we are going to spend this much on a tree I want to spend it in Placentia, silly I know but hey lets support our hometown! As we were heading back to the Placentia tree lot we passed but Orchard and figured what the hell, we've already made enough stops whats one more. We were not impressed. So we ended up back at the Placentia tree lot paying a little to much then we wanted to for a tree we actually loved!
I think next year we decided to try out Peltzer Pines on Rose. We got home and set this bad boy up and had some left over lasagna.
Brooklynn is quite impressed with the tree, we didn't hang to many ornaments this year since she is still learning what she's allowed to touch.
For the final touch, Loren lifted Brooklynn up to place the angel on top. :)
Oh I almost forgot to mention that with our tree came a little friend from the North Pole, Elvin the elf! She decided to post up on the Elk and watch over us for a while. She also came prepared to watch some football with us tomorrow!
After we put Brooklynn to bed we decided to get in the Christmas spirit ourselves and watch Scrooged with Bill Murray. Such a great movie!
