Tonight we started a new family Christmas tradition.
Tonight we headed down to Irvine Regional Park so that we could take a train ride to the North Pole, where Santa is of course, and then to Santa's village for some fun Christmas activities. We had a blast!
You get to board the train and ride it to the North Pole, Brooklynn was a little weary of the train once it started moving, she snuggled up with Mama and just watched everything pass by. When we got to the North Pole we got to see Santa and tell him what we wanted for Christmas. Loren and I decided to go up to Santa with her and what do you know, she didn't cry this time!
After we saw Santa we got to take the train back to Santa's village and this time Brooklynn stood up and looked at all the decorations as we passed them.
Once we got to Santa's village we headed over to decorate some cookies. You get to pick out your cookie, your frosting, and your decorations. Brooklynn decided putting the frosting on the cookies was a waste of time, she just put it straight in her mouth! haha
Once we all had a good sugar high going we decided to head over to the ice fishing. Brooklynn didn't quite understand how to fish just yet. In fact she had more fun throwing pieces of hay into the pond then she did fishing. But we were still able to catch a few fish and we were rewarded with a cute stuffed reindeer for all the fish we collected!
They also had a fun bean bag game toss. The elf running that game was really cute while he explained to Brooklynn what she needed to do in order to win. Unfortunately when she threw the bean bag it only went a few inches in front of her, but it was super cute! The elf rewarded her with a prize anyway and boy did she love that.
They had a few more activities that we didn't do because we were all starting to get quite hungry. They have story time with Mrs. Claus, they have a cute penguin maze, and they had a coloring area. We walked around for a little while longer because Brooklynn was enjoying all the pretty decorations and lights but then we had to pack up and head home.
I definitely recommend this to all families with young ones. It is such a fun and cute evening. We can't wait to do it again next year. The link for all the information on Santa's Train ride can be found here. You do have to buy your train tickets to see Santa online. I hope everyone can get around to doing this over Christmas time!
